Fragen wie diese besch\u00e4ftigen die 1970 in St. Petersburg geborene und seit 1989 in Wien lebende K\u00fcnstlerin Anna Jermolaewa schon lange. Sie findet ihre Bilder im Hier und Jetzt, richtet die Aufmerksamkeit auf Nebens\u00e4chlichkeiten, auf Selbstverst\u00e4ndliches, dem letztlich das gro\u00dfe Ganze menschlicher Existenz eingeschrieben ist. Jermolaewas Motive bestechen gerade in ihrer Einfachheit und zeugen zugleich vom analytischen Interesse der K\u00fcnstlerin an Strukturen, in denen sich soziale, politische oder auch geschlechtsspezifische Ungleichheit \u00e4u\u00dfert. Ihr Blick ist dabei niemals selbstgef\u00e4llig oder pathetisch, vielmehr entlarvend ironisch, manchmal sogar von bei\u00dfendem Humor und stets empathisch. Die Ausstellung Beide Wei\u00df versammelt Werke von den fr\u00fchen 1990er-Jahren bis heute und umfasst neben Jermolaewas bevorzugten Medien Fotografie und Video auch malerische, zeichnerische, skulpturale und installative Arbeiten.
