Zur Er\u00f6ffnung dieser Ausstellung kam niemand au\u00dfer Sigmar Polke und Imi Knoebel. Heute scharen sich Menschentrauben um den charismatischen K\u00fcnstler, seit Jahren Liebling der Kunstwelt und Midas der Branche, seine Vernissagen sind stets \u00fcberf\u00fcllt, ein \u201emust\u201c in der Gesellschaft, die kein Alter, aber Qualit\u00e4t und Zeitlosigkeit kennt. Julian Schnabels Werke wurden in namhaften Museen ausgestellt und sind Bestandteil vieler \u00f6ffentlicher Kunstsammlungen auf der ganzen Welt wie z.B. Tate Gallery, MoMA NY, Guggenheim Museum, Centre Pompidou, Renia Sofia um nur ein paar zu nennen. Die Ausstellung in der Galerie Hilger erstreckt sich \u00fcber einen Zeitraum von 1983 bis heute. Zu sehen gibt es Collagen, Monoprints, ebenso verschiedene Grafik-Editionen, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf aktuellen Arbeiten liegen wird. Schnabel hat anl\u00e4sslich des diesj\u00e4hrigen Jubil\u00e4ums 240 Jahre amerikanische Unabh\u00e4ngigkeit einen einzigartigen Bildzyklus im neoexpressiven Stil geschaffen. Die Pigmentdrucke sind die ersten Grafikeditionen die Schnabel seit fast 10 Jahren ver\u00f6ffentlicht. In kr\u00e4ftiges bis sph\u00e4risches Violett getaucht faszinieren die Bl\u00e4tter durch Expressivit\u00e4t, die ausdrucksstarke, nebul\u00f6s wirkende Violettf\u00e4bung (gew\u00e4sserte Tinte) verleihen den Grafiken die gestische Emotionalit\u00e4t, Vitalit\u00e4t und sensible Poetik, die Schnabels einzigartige Handschrift ausmacht.
