Die Gelegenheiten, O\u2019Keeffe, die neben Frida Kahlo wohl ber\u00fchmteste K\u00fcnstlerin des 20. Jahrhunderts, in Europa zu sehen sind rar: in \u00d6sterreich war sie bislang noch nie ausgestellt. O\u2019Keeffes Werke sind auf die wichtigsten US-Museen und Sammlungen verteilt und gelten dort als Ikonen.\u00a0Das Bank Austria Kunstforum Wien zeigt ab 7. Dezember 2016 die bisher gr\u00f6\u00dfte O\u2019Keeffe-Ausstellungstour au\u00dferhalb der Vereinigten Staaten. Mit der Pr\u00e4sentation von 85 Werken O\u2019Keeffes \u2013 und weiteren 60 Fotografien von befreundeten Fotografen \u2013 von insgesamt 50 Leihgebern bietet die Ausstellung die M\u00f6glichkeit, das malerische Werk dieser Ausnahmek\u00fcnstlerin vollst\u00e4ndig kennenzulernen \u2013 eine Gelegenheit, die sich je Generation wohl nur einmal er\u00f6ffnet. Unter den ausgestellten Werken befindet sich auch \u201eJimson Weed\/White Flower No. 1\u201c (1932) als das mit 44,4 Millionen US-Dollar (umgerechnet 41,84 Millionen Euro) teuerste Bild, das jemals von einer K\u00fcnstlerin versteigert wurde. Die Ausstellung ist bis 26.
