Mit ihren Oeuvres operieren Brigitte Kowanz und Erwin Wurm \u2013 beide haben f\u00fcr ihr au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliches Werk den Gro\u00dfen \u00d6sterreichischen Staatspreis erhalten \u2013 an der Schnittstelle von Skulptur und Architektur, Wurm auf materielle Weise, Kowanz auf immaterielle Weise. Erwin Wurm hat mit seinen ber\u00fchmten H\u00e4userparaphrasen, von \u201aHouse Attack\u2019 (2006) bis zum \u201aNarrow House\u2019 (2010), auf materielle Weise die Architektur in Skulptur verwandelt und mit seinen \u201aOne Minute Sculptures\u2019 die performative Wende der Skulptur auf konsequenteste Weise weiterentwickelt. Kowanz hat mit ihren Lichtobjekten und Lichtr\u00e4umen, denen Schrift und Zeichen inh\u00e4rent sind, eine autonome Leistung f\u00fcr die Kunst erbracht. Mit ihren innovativen und eigenst\u00e4ndigen Beitr\u00e4gen sind Kowanz und Wurm Teil einer internationalen Bewegung innerhalb des Spektrums eines erweiterten Skulptur- und Raumbegriffs\u201c, kommentiert Christa Steinle ihr \u00e4sthetisches Konzept f\u00fcr den \u00d6sterreich-Pavillon.
