Dabei hat die Farbe f\u00fcr Hartig eine gro\u00dfe Bedeutung. Mitte der 1960er Jahre sieht er f\u00fcr sich die M\u00f6glichkeiten der \u00d6lmalerei ausgesch\u00f6pft, experimentiert mit Dispersion und entdeckt 1966 (als einer der ersten in \u00d6sterreich) das Material Acryl. Durch die neue Technik erh\u00f6ht sich die Geschwindigkeit, beim Malen und bei der Thematik: \u00dcberschneidungen, \u00dcberlappungen werden m\u00f6glich \u2013 das Tempo der Stra\u00dfe und ihrer Benutzer, Zerst\u00f6rung, leere, zerdr\u00fcckte Eisbecher, bei einem Amerikaaufenthalt ist er vom \u201eAmerican Football\u201c fasziniert. Die Schnelligkeit, der Kampf finden Eingang in seine meist gro\u00dfformatigen Gem\u00e4lde. Hartig selbst bezeichnet seine Arbeiten als REALPOP, da sie stets an die Realit\u00e4t gebunden sind. Selbst Bilder, die auf den ersten Blick nichts mit der realen Welt zu tun haben, finden ihren Ursprung in dieser. Das MUSA zeigt Jorg Hartigs bedeutendes umfangreiches \u0152uvre erstmals in einer konzentrierten, Werke aus sechs Jahrzehnten umfassenden musealen Retrospektive, wobei es w\u00e4hrend der Ausstellungsdauer einen teilweisen Wechsel der gezeigten Arbeiten geben wird.
