Remember that &#8211; do not listen.\u201c The Exorcist, 1973<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Der Titel der Schau \u201ePossession\u201c des in Berlin lebenden K\u00fcnstlers Markus Proschek (1981) bezieht sich auf das Motiv der Besessenheit von einer d\u00e4monischen Macht und der Gefahr dieser permanent ausgesetzt zu sein. Die Arbeitsweise von Markus Proschek ist getragen von einem dichten Referenzsystem politischer, historischer und gegenw\u00e4rtiger Analysen. Hierzu verkn\u00fcpft er in seiner als Ganzes zu verstehenden Rauminstallation einzelne Bildzitate zu einer vielschichtigen Argumentationskette. Jenen Schlagabtausch zwischen Realit\u00e4t und Fiktion als Modus politischer Argumentation in seinen gegenw\u00e4rtigen und historischen Bedingungen untersucht Proschek mit seinem komplex recherchierten Bilderkatalog, den er auf exemplarische Bildwerke reduziert. So zeigt am Beispiel der eskalierten Konflikte im Nahen- und Mittleren Osten und der resultierenden terroristischen Bedrohung die Rhetorik der politischen D\u00e4monisierung, der Konstruktion ihrer Feindbilder innerhalb eines Orientalismus der negativen Besetzung, und die Zerst\u00f6rung von Bildwerken als Visualisierung eines gewaltt\u00e4tigen Exorzismus von (Bild-) Regimen, und somit deren symbolische Ausl\u00f6schung. Was bleibt ist die Leerstelle, das Fragment als Zeuge von Vernichtetem und das Unbehagen dar\u00fcber, welche symbolische Ordnung diese Leere als n\u00e4chstes besetzen wird.
