Juni 2017 in der B\u00fccher-Auktion des Dorotheum das grundlegende Werk der neuzeitlichen Anatomie von Andreas Vesalius versteigert: Es ist der h\u00f6chste Preis, der je im Dorotheum f\u00fcr ein Buch erzielt wurde. Die 1543 erschienene Erstausgabe \u201eDe humani corporis fabrica libri septem\u201c (\u00dcber den Bau des menschlichen K\u00f6rpers) des in Padua lehrenden Arztes Vesalius ging an einen Saal-bieter. Der kolorierte Band enth\u00e4lt neben zahl-reichen Illustrationen auch Eintragungen der Besitzer, u. a. des deutschen Arztes Caspar Naevius (1513 \u2013 1579), zur \u201e\u2026 erschr\u00f6cklichen und unerh\u00f6rten Pestilenz zu Venedig anno 1576\u201c sowie eine Liste zu Patienten (F\u00fcrsten, Grafen, Freiherren). Vesalius, sp\u00e4ter Leibarzt Kaiser Karls V. und K\u00f6nig Philipps II. von Spanien, war der Erste, der seine Studien an menschlichen Leichen durchf\u00fchrte.
