Der 1930 in Hamburg geborene K\u00fcnstler geh\u00f6rt zu den letzten lebenden Sch\u00fclern von Willi Baumeister und lebt seit 2005 in Tirol. 1952 wurde er an der Kunstakademie Stuttgart in die Baumeister-Klasse aufgenommen und studierte fortan intensiv bis zu dessen Tod 1955 seine Auffassung von Malerei. Zeitlebens beeinflusste Gonn Mosny Baumeisters spezielle Bildauffassung, die sich durch ein spirituelles Erleben g\u00e4nzlich von einem Kunstwollen befreit und im Sinne des Zen-Buddhismus die Praxis der Malerei neu definiert. Baumeister ver\u00f6ffentlichte diesbez\u00fcglich 1947 das Buch \u201eDas Unbekannte in der Kunst\u201c, in dem er auf die Verwandtschaft zwischen dem Unbekannten und den Naturkr\u00e4ften hinweist. Er ist der Meinung, dass das Schaffen eines Kunstwerks das Handlungsverm\u00f6gen des Menschen \u00fcbersteigt und Teil von Prozessen in der Natur ist. Auch Eugen Herrigels Buch \u201eZen in der Kunst des Bogenschie\u00dfens\u201c aus dem Jahr 1948 ist bis heute ein ma\u00dfgeblicher Einfluss f\u00fcr seine Kunstauffassung geblieben.
