Mal ehrte der Wiener Kunsthandel Pers\u00f6nlichkeiten und Institutionen f\u00fcr ihre Verdienste rund um die Vermittlung von Kunst mit dem viennaARTaward. Vergeben wurde der Preis am 17. Oktober im Novomatic Forum in folgenden Kategorien: Klassischer Kunsth\u00e4ndler, Zeitgen\u00f6ssischer Kunsth\u00e4ndler, Museumswesen und Sonderpreis f\u00fcr Kunstvermittlung. Der viennaARTaward f\u00fcr sein \u201eLebenswerk als Sammler\u201c ging in diesem Jahr an den Bankmanager Herbert Stepic. Entdeckt hat Stepic seine Sammelleidenschaft vor mehr als drei Jahrzenten, als er einem H\u00e4ndler an der Elfenbeink\u00fcste drei Masken abgekauft hat. Seitdem gilt der 70 j\u00e4hrige als leidenschaftlicher Kollektor afrikanischer Kunst und besitzt mehrere hundert moderne, aber auch tausende Jahre alte St\u00fccke aus Holz, Metall und Terrakotta sowie zahlreiche Webe- und Perlenarbeiten. Stepic reiht sich damit in eine lange Riege renommierter Sammler ein. Den viennaARTaward erhielten bis dato u.a. auch die Unternehmer Agnes und Karlheinz Essl sowie die scheidende Generaldirektorin des Kunsthistorischen Museums, Sabine Haag. Am 17. Oktober wurde im Novomatic Forum einer der wichtigsten und renommiertesten Kunstpreise \u00d6sterreichs, der viennaARTaward, vergeben. Das Wiener Landesgremium des Kunst-, Antiquit\u00e4ten- und Briefmarkenhandels w\u00fcrdigt damit Pers\u00f6nlichkeiten und Institutionen, die sich um das Vermitteln, Bewerten, Bewahren und F\u00f6rdern von alter und neuer Kunst verdient gemacht haben. In diesem Jahr erhielt der Bankmanager Herbert Stepic einen viennaARTaward f\u00fcr sein Lebenswerk als Sammler.
