Dezember 2017 zeigen beispielhaft, wie Josef Hoffmann seinen unverkennbaren und gleichzeitig vielf\u00e4ltigen Weg in seinem Kunstschaffen fand. In die Jahre 1904\/1905 datiert, wird eine Oberskanne angeboten, die sich \u2013 typisch f\u00fcr den Stil der Wiener Werkst\u00e4tte in dieser Zeit \u2013 durch Geometrie und Strenge auszeichnet (Sch\u00e4tzwert \u20ac 30.000 \u2013 50.000). Von der puren Geometrie wendet sich der K\u00fcnstler rund um die Zeit der Wiener Kunstschau 1908 ab \u2013 seine Objekte werden dekorativer und floraler. So zu sehen in dem in der Auktion angebotenen Kaviaraufsatz aus dem Jahr 1909, der mit dem sogenannten gebuckelten Efeudekor die neue Tendenz trefflich illustriert (\u20ac 20.000 \u2013 40.000). Mit zwei Silberaufs\u00e4tzen, entworfen vor 1925, erweist Josef Hoffmann seinem verstorbenen Kollegen Dagobert Peche Anerkennung. Er \u00fcbernimmt stilistische Elemente von Peches Kunst und f\u00fchrt sie weiter, beispielhaft die beiden in der Auktion angebotenen Tafelaufs\u00e4tze (\u20ac 30.000 \u2013 60.000). Josef Hoffmann war es auch, der eine rund 18 cm hohe Vase der britisch-\u00f6sterreichischen K\u00fcnstlerin Lucie Rie-Gomperz als Gastgeschenk in die USA brachte. Er gab sie einer Familie, die von 1925 bis 1937 in Chicago lebte und zu vielen K\u00fcnstlern ein freundschaftliches Verh\u00e4ltnis pflegte. Auf dem Erbweg jener Familie in die Auktion kommt diese um 1930 entstandene Keramik der K\u00fcnstlerin, die in Wien bei Michael Powolny an der Kunstgewerbeschule studiert hatte und mit ihren Arbeiten Weltruhm erlangte (\u20ac 9.000 \u2013 15.000). Adolf Loos arbeitete immer wieder mit lokalen Produktionsfirmen zusammen, so auch beim achtbeinigen Schreibtisch aus Nussholz, einem der pr\u00e4chtigsten Exemplare der Auktion. Die 1853 gegr\u00fcndete Wiener M\u00f6belfirma Friedrich Otto Schmidt, Hersteller von Wohnungseinrichtungen nach Entw\u00fcrfen oder antiken Vorbildern, f\u00fchrte Loos\u2018 Entwurf aus (\u20ac 25.000 \u2013 40.000). Weitere Top-Objekte der Auktion stammen u. a. von Marcel Kammerer, Otto Prutscher, Karl Hagenauer, Demetre Chiparus, Henry van de Velde und Gustave Serrurier-Bovy.
