In der Serie Bodies of Work befasst sie sich mit der Linzer Schiffswerft (\u00d6SWAG). Gruzei begleitete \u00fcber einen Zeitraum von zwei Monaten mit ihrer Kamera den Bau eines gro\u00dfen F\u00e4hrschiffs. Mann und Maschine erweisen sich im industriellen Schaffensprozess als perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt. Gruzei sieht den \u201eArbeiterk\u00f6rper\u201c in diesem Zusammenhang als \u201eVerhandlungsort f\u00fcr die stets aktuellen Diskurse um den Stellenwert und die Ver\u00e4nderung von Arbeit.\u201c Die K\u00fcnstlerin fotografierte auch au\u00dferhalb der Betriebszeiten in der Werft. Wenn sich die Dunkelheit \u00fcber das Firmenareal legt und der L\u00e4rm der Maschinen verhallt, zeigen sich die Motive in einem anderen Licht. Die fremdartig wirkenden Szenarien erweitern den repr\u00e4sentierten Realit\u00e4tsausschnitt um neue Zeit- und Raumbez\u00fcge. Der fotografische Befund dieser Serie reicht demnach weit \u00fcber einen dokumentarischen Ansatz hinaus. Katharina Gruzei wurde 1983 in Klagenfurt geboren. Sie studierte an der Universit\u00e4t f\u00fcr k\u00fcnstlerische und industrielle Gestaltung Linz, an der University of California, Santa Barbara und an der Universit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnste, Berlin.
