Mit seiner Pr\u00e4senz und ikonischen Architektur bietet das Kunsthaus Bregenz die ideale B\u00fchne f\u00fcr Ed Atkins\u2019 k\u00fcnstlich erzeugten Realismus. Im Zentrum seiner Videoarbeiten steht eine computergenerierte Figur, die sich in allt\u00e4glichen Situationen der Verzweiflung, Angst, Komik oder Frustration befindet. Ausschlie\u00dflich mit computergeneriertem Bildmaterial hergestellt, ist alles in Atkins\u2019 Pr\u00e4sentation als Fake, als L\u00fcge erkennbar: sei es Nostalgie, Geschichte, Fortschritt, authentisches Leben oder Identit\u00e4t. Als Vorbote zur Ausstellung pr\u00e4sentiert Ed Atkins unter dem Titel Outsides bereits jetzt eine Auswahl zentraler Motive aus seinen computeranimierten Videos an den KUB Billboards an der Seestra\u00dfe.
