Unter der Leitung von Katrin Luchsinger wurden in einem einzigartigen Projekt an der Z\u00fcrcher Hochschule der K\u00fcnste die um 1900 in allen kantonalen Kliniken der Schweiz entstandenen Werke erfasst. Die PatientInnen schufen ihre Werke mit Hingabe und mit gro\u00dfer technischer wie k\u00fcnstlerischer Kompetenz. Sie verstanden ihre Arbeiten als Beitrag zum \u00f6ffentlichen Leben, als Erfindung oder Ausdruck ihrer Gedanken, als Kritik an der Anstalt oder Bereicherung im eint\u00f6nigen Alltag. Ihre Kunst ist gepr\u00e4gt vom Ausschluss aus der \u00d6ffentlichkeit und von der Frage, was als \u201enormal\u201c galt. Die Ausstellung wird im LENTOS Kunstmuseum um Werke aus \u00d6sterreich erg\u00e4nzt. Diese Zeichnungen stammen aus der ehemaligen Heil- und Pflegeanstalt Niedernhart (heute: Neuromed Campus), aus der Landesheilanstalt Salzburg und von Josef Karl R\u00e4dler (1844\u20131917), der von 1905 bis zu seinem Tod in der Kaiser Franz Josef Landes-Heil- und Pflegeanstalt im nieder\u00f6sterreichischen Mauer-\u00d6hling hospitalisiert war.
