Mit gro\u00dfer Leidenschaft widmete sich der vielleicht \u201eWienerischste\u201c \u00f6sterreichische Maler des 20. Jahrhunderts seiner Heimatstadt. Pippal hielt sowohl repr\u00e4sentative Stra\u00dfen und Geb\u00e4ude, wie die Ringstra\u00dfe, die Staatsoper, den Stephansdom oder den Graben fest, als auch stimmungsvolle Ansichten der Wiener Au\u00dfenbezirke. Wie kaum ein anderer verstand er es, die Atmosph\u00e4re der Stadt, die sich nach Tages- und Jahreszeit ver\u00e4ndert, einzufangen. Pippals breites Themenspektrum umfasst neben den ber\u00fchmten Wien-Bildern auch Portraits und Figurenstudien, religi\u00f6se Motive und Stillleben. Daneben finden sich in seinem Oeuvre auf Reisen nach Italien und Frankreich entstandene Veduten und Stadtansichten. Hier lie\u00df sich Pippal ganz von der Leichtigkeit und frischen Farbigkeit eines Henri Matisse oder Raoul Dufy inspirieren.
